Early autumn snow in the Black Hills


Snow in the Black Hills

As we were walking around the rental cabin, every couple of minutes clumps of snow would cascade off of tree branches.

Woke up to snow in the Black Hills in late September. About three inches blanketed the area. Even though it was too early for snow in our book, it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful.

We spoke with a Native American who was working at the park. He said technically this should be called Bear Mountain because it is not a butte. Buttes have flat tops.

First snow

Vacationed in South Dakota and woke up one morning with snow in the Black Hills.
