hope

It’s the Christmas season… the most wonderful time of year. Filled with good cheer, festive activities, and happiness. At least that what is supposed to be. But for some, for a variety of reasons, it is not wonderful. The season could bring back memories of what used to be that will not be any more. Or recent loss of a job or worse, a loved one, could be making the Christmas season anything but happy. Every day may be a struggle and adding the busyness of the holidays might m...agnify the not so warm and fuzzy feelings of the season. But despite it all we can find joy in knowing the real reason for the Christmas season. We needed a Savior. So God, the Creator of the universe, sent His only Son to this earth to be born in a dirty stable. He grew and lived as we do. He experienced pain and loss of a friend. He endured a lot including being tortured and killed all because of us. But then He broke the power of the grave. He lives so we can live. He offers the best gift ever. And He offers peace that passes understanding and joy and strength to get through this life. As hard as this life, and holiday season can be, I pray that some joy can be found as we focus on Christ and rejoice over His great love for us.
