Recently in a week’s time, I heard or read several references to either the Israelites at the Red Sea or a “Red Sea Moment.” The Israelites were facing an impossible situation. A body of water in front of them that they can’t cross. Pharaoh and his army approaching from behind. But God had a plan. God made a way for them to pass safely to the other side and He took care of Pharaoh's army, too.
My husband and I have found ourselves in a “Red Sea Moment” now. Just over a month ago my husband was informed that his position was one of many being cut by his employer. Unfortunately, we were in this similar spot roughly a year and a half ago. That was a fairly big “moment.” Despite hiring freezes because of the pandemic, in His perfect timing my husband was hired. And now we are back on the seashore.
Normally I like being on a shoreline listening to the music of gently crashing waves. However, I will admit, this is one I’m not particularly found of. I am a planner. I like to strategize and look ahead. Not knowing where we will end up is not exactly fun or fits my agenda. My husband is searching for his next employment opportunity. We have no idea when or where that opportunity will happen. We don’t know when God will part the sea for us. But we will wait on the shore. Trust His timing and anticipate His provision.
